My Journey

My Journey: Steps, Lessons, and Growth

Life is a path of constant learning. My journey in the digital world began not with a grand plan, but with a simple interest in making things. Over the years, this interest turned into a passion, shaping how I see challenges and how I approach my work every day. This page shares the real story of my professional path, from early curiosity to building real skills and businesses.

Starting Out: The Early Days of Digital

My story in the digital space began when I was just seven years old. I was drawn to computers and what they could do. I tried many things, from basic coding to building simple games and apps. Not everything stuck. I learned quickly that some paths, while interesting, weren’t the right long-term fit for me. For example, I spent time with pure coding and front-end website development. While I enjoyed the design parts, I realized a full career in just coding wasn’t what I wanted. This early exploration taught me an important lesson: it’s okay to try something, learn from it, and then move in a different direction. It’s about understanding what truly holds your interest.

Finding My Way: Design and Visuals

My real connection formed with design and visual work. I poured hours into graphic design, not thinking about the clock. This was different. I started making shirt designs for a website called theWareHouse.pk, creating over 30 designs that were even used in their ads. It was exciting to see my work reach people, even if I wasn’t making much money yet. This experience showed me the power of visual communication.

Then came 3D modeling. I dedicated a whole year to learning 3D artwork. This added another way for me to bring ideas to life. Whether it’s logos, social media pictures, ads, or print designs like brochures, my creative skills grew from these deep dives into design. This consistent effort helped me build discipline and find joy in turning an idea into something real.

Seeing the World Through a Lens: Photography and Filmmaking

My visual interest also led me to photography. Taking pictures became a quiet way for me to notice the details around me. This naturally moved into making videos and filmmaking. My YouTube channel, “Usman Jatoi” (once “UJTutorial,” then “Usman Art”), became a place for this.

A project I really put my heart into was the “Khanpur Katora Documentary.” This film was a big personal project, taking over a month and a half to write, film, and edit with my brother. It was a huge effort to tell a story about where I come from. We made two more videos after that. These experiences taught me a lot about telling stories, the technical side of video editing, and the patience needed to finish a big project. It was all about my own interest and wanting to tell stories, even before my work was recognized in my city in 2022. Turning designs into motion through video editing became a key part of my creative journey.

Early Professional Steps: Getting Things Done

My journey also includes important work experiences. I worked with Abdullah, a Level 2 Freelancer on Fiverr, on over 250 projects. This early work taught me about managing many tasks and meeting client needs. I also worked with MetaverseDeviser, AdvancedIncomeMarketing, and Mendiary, gaining more experience in different areas of digital work.

One significant step was joining Pearl Lemon Group. My brother, Usama, suggested I join a company, and after he showed Deepak Shukla (the founder) one of my videos, they liked it. It took a month to get started, but I was brought into a trial group. My first task was to redesign pearllemonweb.com. I designed the homepage and even built it in WordPress using Elementor. My extra effort to record a video explaining the design paid off. Deepak was happy, and my real journey with them began. This experience showed me the value of doing more than what’s asked and solving problems directly.

At Uk Company, I became the Head of Website Design. This role allowed me to work with many clients, managing over 19 team members and handling over 160 website projects. I was involved in creating over 1000 converter plugins, doing lead scraping, and building strategies for websites. It was a place where I could apply my diverse skills in design, management, and marketing to real business needs. The biggest lesson was learning to manage projects and teams, and to understand client needs deeply.
